School Programs:
Warrup's Farm offers school programs for pre-K to 4th grade during pumpkin season and maple syrup season. The cost is $8.00 per child; we ask for a minimum of 10 children per group.
A visit during the harvest season includes a hayride, featuring a classic tractor and wagon with real hay that travels along a New England dirt road to the pumpkin patch. There the children choose a pumpkin and then take the hayride to the barnyard to visit the animals. Everyone gets an apple as a snack. Depending on available time, the age of the group and their interests, some groups enjoy a visit to the vegetable and flower fields and an informal discussion about the growing season.
A visit in the maple season includes a look at how we tap the trees, gather the sap, and boil it down to syrup in a shiny evaporator. Everyone gets a piece of maple sugar candy. Then to the barnyard where the children visit the animals. Next, they go to the greenhouse to plant bean seeds or potato eyes which they take home to watch grow.
